Get to Know Pete Davis! Pete came on staff as the FCA Area Representative serving the Surf & Skate communities of South Jersey. Pete grew up in Central Jersey surfing the local breaks and lives right outside Ocean City NJ with his wife, Lisa and their daughters, Chloe and Kassia. A graduate of Messiah College, Pete earned a degree in Education and maintained a successful teaching career in math, science, architectural design, and industrial technology at all levels of public education. Pete served as a FCA Huddle Coach for 10 years at Belhaven Middle School in Linwood, NJ and encouraged middle schoolers to utilize their gifts and talents to serve others for Christ. In July 2019, Pete and his family answered the call to serve as full-time missionaries with Rio Missions in Panama, where the ministry passion began with a surf and service missions trip. God’s leading back to the states during the summer of the pandemic expanded the already present connection with FCA Surf through multiple surf camp coaching experiences and revealed God’s non-linear path to share the Gospel. Pete's mission is to engage the local surf community by creating opportunities to reach surfers with the life-changing message of the Gospel. Pete’s vision is to equip surfers to live out their faith in and out of the water and empower them to do the same at their local surf spot, school, contest, or anywhere waves are found. Our trailer gets A LOT of attention during the summer which means it gets packed with sand and salt water. The boards also get lots of love in the water which means they needs more love at the end of our season. Now they are all ready for next season! 🌊💙 As surfers, it’s important to take care of our prized boards and even wetsuits. After your surf session, don’t forget to spray off your board of all salt water and to clean your suit. Keep it nice, and be able to enjoy it more! #fcasurf

Our FALL CHARGE meet up at 59th street was awesome!! The surf was up, the pizza was delicious, Chris Wilson sang some beautiful worship, and Pete Davis had a message for all ages about fear. He dove into Mark 4:35-41, when Jesus calms a storm. How can we PURSUE a life without fear? Here are three take aways! 1. Turn to Jesus! (Pray, know he is with you!) 2. Have peace! WEEK 8 OCNJ REVIEW 🌊 Our very last week of camp was awesome! The water was warm all week long, we had some more great rides as well as great conversations, and we ended the week with a paddle out to celebrate an awesome summer. Paul has a deep love for his local surf community, and a desire for those he comes in contact with in the water to see the love of Christ in simple and creative ways. He was married to his wife, Lauren, just last year and now has the full family experience with two boys and a puppy. Paul has been involved with surf ministry for 21 years, and has been volunteering with FCA Surf since 2014. He has recently stepped into a part time position with FCA Surf directing camps & clinics in Atlantic City, hosting ministry outreaches to the surf community, and coming alongside staff to disciple young leaders. Here is Matt Rossetti with how he PURSUES TRUTH! . . Romans 8:18 “I consider that our present sufferings are not worth comparing the glory that will be revealed in us” “I was told this verse by a FCA Surf Instructor back when I was a younger camper, and I’ve held it close to my heart ever since then. I reflect on it daily, and think it serves a great purpose of showing why Pursuing the Truth is so worth it! It is a simple verse, but it speaks wavelengths of truth. Pursuing the Truth can often be challenging for me, and I sometimes lack motivation. This verse lifts me up, reminding me that whatever is going on in life at the moment, will not compare to what God has in store for the rest of our lives to come. Pursuing the Truth in Jesus is the only way to navigate through what life throws at you, the good days and the bad days, and this verse shows us that in the end it will all be so worth it! The Gospel is the home of the ultimate Truth, and through reading scripture, prayer, and spreading the good news to others, we can find that Truth more and more in our lives!
