Surf instructors, clinicians and equipment will be provided by Waterboyz.      Instructional time will take place from 9-12.  Lunch and a guest speaker will be provided from 12-1.   

Registration form and permission waiver must be completed to participate.   Forms can be mailed to our office prior to event.  Please make all checks payable to: FCA  (we will take cash also).    Our maximum number of participants is 40.  We will accept walk-ups the day of the event, but if we have already received the maximum number of registrations prior to the event, you will not be able to participate.  So get your registration mailed as soon as possible.

·         Every participant will be required to pass a swim test.

·         Swim Test will take place from 8-9 along with registration.  In other words, do not show-up at 9 and expect to start immediately.  Please get there at least 15 minutes before the camp is scheduled to begin.

Aloha Friends, This year we have exciting new camps as we introduce a new location in Ocean Grove, NJ. We also have new locations in California with Walking On Water and more great weeks at Noah's Surf Camp on the Outer Banks of North Carolina..

Ocean City is offering discounted enrollments for July and August camps when you are enrolled by April 1st. A new "how to surf in contests" camp will be offered soon, we're still working on the cool details. Plus the New Jersey camps are adding all new soft surfboards to our quiver.

A mission trip is being offered by our ministry in Margate called 609 to Panama this August.

with more than 52,000 athletes and coaches attending 351 FCA Camps across America and the world. Many
lives were impacted and transformed by outstanding competition and spiritual growth during FCA’s fifty-fifth
camp season.

This year’s theme, GAMECHANGER: Make a Play, was based on Acts 2:36-40 and focused on gamechanging
moments in the Bible that resulted in outstanding victories for God. The campers were challenged to
become spiritual gamechangers on their team, in -their sport and in their life.

This life-changing impact has been the main focus of FCA Camp since the first camp in 1956. In 2011 alone, over 4,600 athletes and coaches made first-time commitments to Christ. Now that’s a gamechanger!

It was such an awesome summer, surf camps were amazing! Our best summer yet. Thanks to everyone that participated in FCA Surf Camps. Our wonderful staff, Jr. Interns, volunteers, lifeguards, staff at the FCA NSC in Kansas City (some of the most stoked people on earth) to our campers and everyone else that prayed, got up early and made it all possible; we thank you so much. It was a wonderful blessing to me and my family!

FCA SURF is just what you’ve been looking for. Combining surfing and Christ; FCA's Intern Program gives you a chance to share your faith, keep active in surfing and earn pay! Many on our interns return each year.

Interns are college students who regularly surf and are willing to work during the summer for FCA. Interns raise partial financial support (just like any other summer mission programs—and we’ll help you).

FCA will provide all the fund-raising and camp leadership training necessary and you will receive pay for each week of your surf camp internship experience.  During the camp you will be instructing students ages 8 to adult on the beach teaching them to surf; from beginners to experienced. 

This is an awesome opportunity for you to live out your faith, impact young people for Christ and earn some money. What could be a better way to invest in your summer? Surfing, Missions, Fun and Pay!
Intern Qualifications 

• Current College Student (or just graduated from high school)
• Good to Excellent surfing skills
• Good swimming skills
• CPR –certification (class available)
• Love the Lord, evident in all areas of your life
• Christian References
• Drug and Alcohol Free

Bryan Jennings founder of Walking On Water has joined their well known surf camp ministry with FCA Surf. This summer will be Walking On Water's 16th Anniversary of the Southern California based surf camps. Bryan is well known internationally for his professional surfing career and for producing many inspirational surfing films and outreaches.

Joe Matera founder of FCA Surf says that he has enjoyed his freindship with Bryan and had volunteered at one of Bryan's camps in San Diego years ago. For FCA Surf the additional surf camps in Southern California expand the Sport Specific Surf Ministry of the Fellowship of Christian Athletes from coast to coast!

Both ministries are excited to see what the Lord does through these camps and look forward to an awesome summer surf camp season! The surf camps are ready for your enrollment!

Today maybe thousands of surfers will go back to be engaged in a specific memory of being in the presence of a man named George Gerlach of Surfers Supplies in Ocean City NJ.

The first time I recall meeting George was in 1970. There was something about his surf shop known to me in name only as “George’s” for the longest time.  The aroma of his surf shop was like a soothing balm to the senses consisting of sweet polyester resin and wax.  The atmosphere intensified the senses even more with jazz music coming out of two gigantic brown speakers while sliding your bare feet on the sandy floor. George is responsible for my introduction to jazz and to surfer style coolness. He was always ready with a handshake and a snappy greeting!

After a good surf session George became our “surfing parent”. You could walk right in dripping wet, go on about your best wave while George would hold the moment in his embrace and congratulate you on your big day! The feeling he gave you as you left the store was one of a “relational stoke”. The feeling was even better when you bought a board!

The man was like a surfer’s book of knowledge; he was the Wild World Web of his time. I loved searching for boards that could maybe stump him on their history and for lonely fins that were like orphans trying to find their original boards. George fiber glassed my fin onto my first board; a beat up twelve-dollar 8’4” CC Rider - Claude Codgin Mini-Pin. I still have it and the fin is still attached. There was never a rush or hurry with him he made time for you.

His enthusiasm while fixing boards out back was great, it was like being invited into a sacred secret place. The great master taught us the basics of surfboard repair. He sent us out on our own to figure out the techniques with a little box that had a brown apothecary bottle of resin with a masking tape on top, hardener and some fiberglass cloth. George was always one for a joke and a good laugh.

I believe that George was a true gentleman, sort of mysterious; it was always amazing if you could find in him out in the lineup.  I found George surfing many times at Park Place and a few other mid-town beaches and surf spots further south.   I credit George for making Ocean City the surfing epicenter that is today, the other shops have surely benefitted from this and I hardly know another surf town like it. His finger prints in surfing are set here.

One New Year’s Day my wife Laura and I had an open house and George and Linda came. We had such an awesome time with them in our home. It was fun to talk about travel, people, surfers and shapers, design, food & wine, waves and the next coming swell. I think that many of us still call his shop to get the surf report even with the technology available only because he became such a part of our surfing lifestyle.  Almost every travel destination that I’ve been on someone always recognizes the SS logo on my hat.

 Thank you George, we’ll certainly miss you, you were a big part of us and you enriched our lives! Catch a wave my dear friend, we love you!
