The evening will feature Bethany in a live interview talking about what's it's been like to overcome issues in her life and how she has found hope.

There will be a video presentation of local surfers, prizes and FREE admission. You don't have to be a surfer to enjoy this event.  The Ocean City Tabernacle 550 Wesley Ave., Ocean City. Plenty of free parking.

FCA SURF is celebrating its 10th Anniversary this summer in Ocean City, NJ. At this time of year surfing is almost all that we can think about as we prepare for our awesome surf camps. Like you, we can't wait for the longer daylight hours, warmer waves, lots of sunshine and all our friends on the beach.

For our east coast surfers we offer day-camps in Ocean City and Ocean Grove, NJ and further south in the Outer Banks in Kitty Hawk, NC hosted by pro surfer Noah Snyder.

On the west coast you'll find us in sunny San Diego for overnight camps designed for Jr. and Sr. High ages at Point Loma Nazarene University, and day-camps in Del Mar, these camps famously known as Walking On Water for ages 6-14.
In the Los Angeles area the overnight camps are for ages 14-18 held at the FCA Western Sports Camp located on the UCLA campus. This is an exciting camp with extensive evening events that are lots of fun.

For our Gulf Coast friends coming up in May we're hosting our 2nd Spring Surfing Clinic that's really fun and has the stoke of the local surfer community for ages 12-18 in
Pensacola, FL.

This Christmas season reminds us of God's greatest blessing to us, His Son Jesus Christ. Sharing this incredible blessing with others is the driving force behind everything we do at FCA. We are blessed by the great work God is doing in the lives of kids and their families through FCA in our home town and coast-to-coast. This past year, God has used FCA to impact coaches, kids and their families, volunteers and community leaders.

God is so good and this past year has been an incredible! We could have never imagined where and what the Lord would have for myself and our family since going into ministry in 1998 . The individual details regarding personal lives being transformed by Jesus are examples of the goodness and grace of the work of Christ. Here is just one story of transformation:

"Since my daughter went to FCA Surf Camp, her life has totally changed. She is like a new person and this has had a tremendous impact on our family. We are so thankful for FCA.SURF" -  signed by appreciative parents.

On October 3, 1863 President Abraham Lincoln made the Proclamation of Thanksgiving. (see the link to the proclamation)  As we spend this week reflecting in thankfulness, I'm able to see many examples that give me joy, hope, and peace. We celebrate what the Lord has done this past year.

Here are a few of the highlights:

• Lived another year, allowing time to love and be with my wife, family and friends
• Served the Lord with certain passion and vision
• Witnessed hundreds of changed lives for Jesus Christ
• Reached over a thousand kids and families coast-to-coast through
• FCA Grateful for all those who support and pray for the ministry and my family

I encourage you to make your thankfulness list - take the time to think it through, you'll be glad you did! Who are you thankful to? Even better, share yours with your family this weekend.

FCA Surfing Clubs have that same kind of pioneering spirit and they organize and meet on your school campus or at the beach. Meet for prayer, fellowship and for the love of surfing!   

Surfers that are enrolled in Middle School, High School and in College can start their own FCA Surf Club that will be officially recognized as an organized club. Much like our FCA Huddles that meet on campus, these surf clubs are student initiated and led while meeting on or off campus for sport specific fellowship while reaching out to friends and other surfers.

Leadership training, surf camps and liability insurance are some of the resources included with chartering an FCA Surf Club in your community. Contact us for more information to start an FCA Surf Club in your school.

We would like to thank everyone who supported our 1st surf and service trip this August to Panama. We had a great team that went down to Panama and help missionaries Dan Cotton and Jordan Guy further their outreach to the people in Panama.

We were able to take down 21 water filters, giving families an oppurtunity to have access to clean drinkable water. We also hosted a surf contest in Santa Catalina and were able to outreach to that surf community, where Jorday and Lindsay Guy are full time missionaries. Thank you everyone who gave to this trip and prayed for this trip, you have been a great blessing. "Now to Him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to His power that is at work within us"

A special thanks to Uncle Mike for donating a custom 21-13 surfboard to help us raise money for our Panama Surf and Serve Trip.  Uncle Mike helped us be able to provide clean water to families in Panama and put together an awesome surf contest in Santa Catalina.  You can check out Uncle Mike and 21-13 Surfboards at www.21-13.com .

A morning of surfing and fun for the community of autism, partnering with FACES 4 Autism.

Where: 59th Street Beach, Ocean City, NJ, just over the dunes near the dirt parking lot. Public restrooms are nearby.

2 individual Session Times to choose from: Session 1 registration to surf time is 8:00 AM, Session 2 registration to surf time is 9:30 AM. Actual surfing and instruction will be approximately 1 hour 15 minutes.

For Ages 8 - 16 Fee $10.00

Requirements: Enrollment and Waiver Forms are online only, see the web links below. All surfing participants must brnig their own PFD-a life jacket that fits! We suggest that your child have a chance to get used to wearing the life jacket before coming to the beach.

The Mission of this Event

The mission of FCA SURF is to offer individuals and families impacted by Autism Spectrum Disorder a supportive environment to connect and share by creating opportunities to experience the therapeutic benefits of surfing. Through these opportunities, FCA SURF is also creating a greater awareness and a deeper understanding of ASD within the community.

Cost: $20.00   For Ages: 12-18

Surf instructors, clinicians and equipment will be provided by Waterboyz.      Instructional time will take place from 9-12.  Lunch and a guest speaker will be provided from 12-1.   

Registration form and permission waiver must be completed to participate.   Forms can be mailed to our office prior to event.  Please make all checks payable to: FCA  (we will take cash also).    Our maximum number of participants is 40.  We will accept walk-ups the day of the event, but if we have already received the maximum number of registrations prior to the event, you will not be able to participate.  So get your registration mailed as soon as possible.

·         Every participant will be required to pass a swim test.

Aloha Friends, This year we have exciting new camps as we introduce a new location in Ocean Grove, NJ. We also have new locations in California with Walking On Water and more great weeks at Noah's Surf Camp on the Outer Banks of North Carolina..

Ocean City is offering discounted enrollments for July and August camps when you are enrolled by April 1st. A new "how to surf in contests" camp will be offered soon, we're still working on the cool details. Plus the New Jersey camps are adding all new soft surfboards to our quiver.

A mission trip is being offered by our ministry in Margate called 609 to Panama this August.

So don't delay, get enrolled for camp as soon as you can and bring a friend or two along with you! The 2011 FCA Camp season was all about making a play in sports and in life! It was a record-breaking year
with more than 52,000 athletes and coaches attending 351 FCA Camps across America and the world. Many
lives were impacted and transformed by outstanding competition and spiritual growth during FCA’s fifty-fifth
camp season.

This year’s theme, GAMECHANGER: Make a Play, was based on Acts 2:36-40 and focused on gamechanging
moments in the Bible that resulted in outstanding victories for God. The campers were challenged to
become spiritual gamechangers on their team, in -their sport and in their life.

This life-changing impact has been the main focus of FCA Camp since the first camp in 1956. In 2011 alone, over 4,600 athletes and coaches made first-time commitments to Christ. Now that’s a gamechanger!

It was such an awesome summer, surf camps were amazing! Our best summer yet. Thanks to everyone that participated in FCA Surf Camps. Our wonderful staff, Jr. Interns, volunteers, lifeguards, staff at the FCA NSC in Kansas City (some of the most stoked people on earth) to our campers and everyone else that prayed, got up early and made it all possible; we thank you so much. It was a wonderful blessing to me and my family!
